Amato`s Real Italian Food To Go in Saco

I got the most disgusting sandwiches there the other day very disgusted asked for an Italian an extra green peppers every slice of green pepper head seeds in it asked with salt and pepper on it though is no pepper and so much salt that I barfed got a meatball sub my a 14 year old grandson could not eat it because it was so salty and mushy and I ordered the sandwidges 25 minutes ahead of time God there stood outside for 15 minutes then got brought inside the building waited another 15 minutes so all said and done I waited an hour for to see images other than that there's great service

If you doordash, dont even accept an order from here unless you want to wait over an hour for horrible customer service, i dont get the hype. Mcdonalds could make a better sub or pizza.

Horrible quality. I ordered the chicken alfredo, and I couldn't even eat a quarter of it. Huge portion, and it tasted like it was heated up, got cold, and then heated up again with freezer burned products. For $14, I wish I had gotten better quality, but I ended up throwing most of it away. Too rich and too much... it gave me a stomach ache.The employees were nice though.

We ordered Amatos for a company lunch. I really enjoyed the service, the pizza was good, their salad was really good too. Personally, I wish they put more sauce on the pizza, but everyone loved it.

We've been ordering from the Saco Amato's for a little while. This experience was a poor one. We phoned in our order and received incorrect dinners. The pizza we ordered had no sauce. How can you forget the sauce. My sandwich was also made incorrect. I understand mistakes will be made and I hope this does not happen again. Will go back hope it will be better.

Amato's is the place to go for fresh and tasty Italian dishes made to order right in front of you. Italian sandwiches are the same with great meats and vegetables cut fresh onto your Sandwich. All orders made fresh most any way you want it. The staff is friendly, efficient and quick to get you what you want quickly. The restaurant is clean and the dining area the same. Many salads, deserts and munch items as well as drinks are there on shelves waiting for hungry people.

Great calzone (veggie). Not too much cheese. Small one was enough for two. Casual dining. Booths. Good selection of drinks.

This amato's is average. The lady was nice, but seemed like she was new (everyone starts somewhere). Both of the sandwiches weren't right unfortunately isn't the first time it's happened. My recommendation is go to the one in biddeford.

Always FRESH veggies in the sandwiches and salads.

Normally five stars but they need to take a little more time making their sandwiches!

This place is amazing food, we used to have one in our area (they should bring one back to the Dover NH area they’d make a killing). They have any type of Italian item you’d like. I recommend the cheese pazo.

Love the calzones . Kind of pricey . I may be alittle bias the first Italian sandwich I had there cost . 90 cents. I'd go again.

Call ahead and order your food, so you dont have to wait. Always fresh, hands down best pickles.

Doesn’t even deserve the one star. I have always ordered from them at least 2-3 times weekly. Tonight we waited over 2 hours and when the food arrived it was wrong.. the last had some excuse as to why it was wrong? The order before mine was also messed up so somehow thats why mine was completely wrong. Really displeased with the service and overall experience with this place. I am usually pretty understanding but this was just a mess and very unprofessional.

They neglected to add bacon, and extra cheese I paid for. Neglected to put mayo I asked for. Neglected to put the oil on the side like I asked for, now have soggy sandwich. Forgot to put the potato salad I ordered into the bag for pickup. When I called to let them know, they went off on my pregnant girlfriend. The manager refused to accept any amount of responsibility for THEIR mistakes and hung up on us. Please fire the manager asap and get competent workers.

Worst BLT I've ever eaten. The bacon seemed to be old, most of it crumbled out of my sandwich, definitely not fresh, the tomatoes were white. Come on Amatos. You're sandwiches are usually really good.

Once you've had an Amato's italian you won't want anyone one else's.

The food is what it is, as you would expect. The sauce gives me heartburn! anything I order from here has to be light sauce but I still eat there and enjoy it.

I’ve always patronized the Saco Amato’s. The last two time I been there food was all wrong. I called them today to make an order and while I was on the phone I asked how they were handling the covid 19. Were all employees wearing masks and gloves. The person on the phone couldn’t answer me and put the manager on. When I ask her, she told that only the the employees that didn’t feel well would wear masks. Needless to say I didn’t make an order.

Can't go wrong with Amato's. Coming from a picky pizza person, we always make it a point to pick up Amato's when we're in southern ME, when we can, and take it for a picnic on the beach or something. It would be nice if they branched out further into New England some more. Price is a little on the high end, but not out of range.

Pizza was doughy and didn't get the pizza that was ordered. We ordered a Hawaiian, which is ham and pineapple. When we got home all that was on the pizza was pineapple!
